The end is in sight for the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024. There’s just one day of action left, with four teams today securing their flights to London for the BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2024.
We’re recapping the day of action, so you know who you can count on seeing in London throughout June!
NAVI extend winning run
There’s no doubt about it – NAVI have come into 2024 meaning business. After waltzing through the Major RMR Closed Qualifier unscathed, they arrived in Copenhagen with a point to prove. So far, they’ve dropped just a single map, beating G2 twice as well as Complexity at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024. After today’s win, Aleksib’s NAVI team have secured their place at London’s BLAST Premier Spring Final in June.
Out of everyone on the team, praise must be reserved for w0nderful. The young AWPer had the biggest of boots to fill when replacing s1mple, and he’s performed admirably to keep NAVI ticking when they’ve needed him most. He’s not s1mple, but in this team, he doesn’t need to be. If he keeps on this trajectory, he’ll remain one of the hottest prospects the game has to offer for some time to come.
Vitality, FaZe, and Virtus.pro secure London spot
Elsewhere, few surprises were had as Vitality, FaZe, and Virtus.pro secured their London spots against Astralis, Liquid, and BIG respectively. Vitality showed impressive resilience to reverse-sweep Astralis, in a series that could (and probably should) have ended 2:0 to the Danes. Virtus.pro were always favorites against BIG, with the Germans struggling to deal with Jame’s off-meta brand of Counter-Strike.
It’s FaZe that we want to hone in on, though. After losing to GamerLegion on day three of the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2024, they’ve bounced back impressively in Copenhagen. In seven maps since, they’ve only lost a single one. At the forefront was karrigan, who rolled back the years to become a fragging force on the server to be reckoned with.
Now, there’s just one day left of the tournament. Astralis face BIG, while G2 must battle Liquid. The winner of those games move on to the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024, hosted in London throughout June.
