Plunderstorm is World of Warcraft’s latest limited-time battle royale event announced on March 19, 2024. It is a pirate-themed event with lots of rewards, new abilities, and upgrades for players. How to Play Plunderstorm in World of Warcraft

Now, the answer to how to play Plunderstorm is very simple. The Plunderstorm event is fortunately not an expansion pack or DLC that you need to purchase. However, you do need to have a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time, either one works. Subscriptions for the game are recurring while Game Time is a one-time purchase you get for 60 days. If you already have a subscription to Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Classic Hardcore, or Classic Season of Discovery in World of Warcraft, that subscription includes access to the Plunderstorm event. This basically means that Classic players can also play the event, but there is a simple requirement for it. 

The requirement is that you need to install the Modern or Live World of Warcraft client through Battle.net. Here is how to install the Modern or Live World of Warcraft client: 

Step 1: Install the Battle.net desktop app from the official website.

Step 2: Create a Battle.net account on the official website as well. Also, ensure that you have a World of Warcraft account, so you can actually play the event.

Step 3: Launch the Battle.net desktop app on your computer once it’s done installing.

Step 4: Click the World of Warcraft icon at the top of the screen once the app loads. If the icon is missing from the top, click on Games and select the game from the list. Make sure to download “World of Warcraft” and not “World of Warcraft: Classic.”

Step 5: After locating the game or searching for it, click Install. Confirm that you wish to install World of Warcraft when the dialog box pops up.
